Wesley David Woodward

Wesley David Woodward, age 65, passed into the realm of love to join his beloved wife and mother. He passed away doing what he loved to do on Friday, February 23rd, 2024, at home due to natural causes. He was born on February 17th, 1959, in Murray, Utah. He, his brother and five sisters were raised by their amazing and wonderful mother Connie Mae Fackrell. He graduated from Murray Highschool in 1977.

Wes served his LDS mission in Chicago where he got to teach the Godfather's daughter. Had an FBI handler and had to unexpectedly move houses due to his teaching. Afterwards he even worked for the Godfather as a bouncer outside one of his clubs for a time.

The lord had other plans for him though, as he moved back to Utah to find his wife and start his own family. While attending the singles ward in Murray, Utah he met his wife Zoe Ann Lund. After just five weeks of dating, he asked her to marry him on St. Patrick’s Day and just three months later they started their lives together.

He went on to have three wonderful, strong sons and became the dad he wished he had. He was an amazing husband and father, always willing to step up and help. Whether it was coaching a team, a position, delivering baked goods, or simply being the loudest person at the game. He was dad; there to support us with anything we needed.

Wes had a great time with his family and enjoyed watching his boys grow up. He loved going on trips and outings. He made sure we all got to go on ghost hunts before it was popular. He made sure we were always up to date with the latest things, he even bought the first VHS player and camcorder. To capture as much of his kids growing up as he could on camera.

Wes took great pride in his work making things for others. Be it the bread he baked throughout his life or the chocolate he made later; he put his heart and soul into the food for nourishment. All his boys learned to work with their hands from watching their dad work. Thank you, dad, for all you taught us.

Wes is survived by his three sons (Travis, Zach, and Jared) and five grandchildren (Kaden, Tayla, Hazen, Griffin, and Aurora). His legacy will live on as we continue to celebrate his life through our actions. For we do what our parents teach us to do. Now he gets to watch over all of us with his beloved wife as we move forward with our lives.

We look to his last actions for how to walk forward in his footsteps. For he simply cleaned up breakfast, did the dishes for family dinner and did what he loved to do in making his chocolate. So simply serve others and do what you love to do.

Please help us celebrate his life by coming to his life celebration event. It will be held on the day he proposed to his beloved wife, St Patrick's day (March 17th, 2024) at 2 pm, to celebrate the 40 years that they had with their family.

His passing came as quite a shock to all. He will be missed, and we will always remember him. Thank you, Jesus, for giving us a way to go home to mom and dad.
