Zola Ward Knell passed away of causes incident to age on February 15, 2013, in Ogden, Utah. Zola was born on August 31, 1919, in Parowan, Utah, the daughter of Joseph Edward Ward and Lily Dale Matheson Ward. She was one of eight children: a brother, Parker Matheson Ward, and six sisters: Bess Ward Holt, Dale Ward Halterman, Joan Ward Wasden, Carey Ward Shurtleff, Mary Ward, and Sara Ward Coleman. All preceded her in death except Carey, now living in Parowan.

Zola married Frank Page Knell of Newcastle, Utah, on her 18th birthday, August 31, 1937, in the Salt Lake City Temple. Page passed away on March 1, 1977. They raised six children, Frank Ward Knell (Jo Anne) Surprise, AZ; Linda Knell Pugmire (Ronald) currently serving an LDS mission in Kenya, Africa; Ilene Knell Foulger (Keith) Ogden, UT; Wayne Ward Knell (Terry) Las Vegas, NV; Craig Ward Knell (Natalie) Salt Lake City, UT; and Keith Ward Knell, Las Vegas, NV. Zola was the grandmother of 21, and the great-grandmother of 50.

She devoted her entire life to her family and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In the early years of their marriage, she and Page lived in several Utah communities, including Provo, Beaver, Parowan, Cedar City, Hurricane, and New Castle, as well as Las Vegas, NV. In 1984, Zola and Keith moved from Las Vegas to Sandy, Utah where they lived for 25 years. They enjoyed living in Sandy where they were surrounded by loving and caring friends and neighbors. Wherever they lived, Zola was an active member of the Church, and held many positions of responsibility in the Primary, Young Women, and Relief Society. As a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and acquaintance, she was a loving, caring, hard-working, contributing and inspirational presence.
