Geoff married the love of his life, Margo Loveless on May 15, 1982. She was his life partner and adventurer as well as his couch buddy. They had many wonderful experiences and adventures together including achieving one of their life long dreams of owning a lake front cabin in Idaho. Many days were spent at the cabin boating, kayaking and relaxing and enjoying each others company.

They had a beautiful family of two girls, Aubrey and Caylee, and one boy, Gregory. They raised their young family in Salt Lake City before moving to Bountiful when Greg was born. They also have two wonderful granddaughters, Shaney and Amelia.

Skiing was Geoff’s passion for most of his life. His sister Cheryl began taking him skiing at Park City in his teens and he was hooked from then on. He spent much of his leisure time skiing with his buddies (and Margo, his ski widow). During winter he would watch the weather forecasts endlessly to see when to ski the best powder. He taught ski lessons for the Deseret News and the U of U just to get up on the mountain. He even taught Margo and the kids how to ski and enjoyed skiing well into his 60’s.

Geoff’s first job was at the local Ford dealership when he was around 12 years old, working for about $1/hr cleaning their shop area after school. He also worked at the Bountiful Servus Drug Store as a short order cook, Eimco Mining Machinery as a crane operator, U of U cleaning crew, Ski instructor for the U of U, Assistant Professor for a U of U geography/aerial photography class, and a Davis County elementary school substitute teacher (well known by students as Mr. Awesome). His career job was working for the United States Department of Agriculture as a Contracting Officer responsible for managing and procuring nationwide aerial photography and digital imagery. He loved this work and the people he worked with retiring after 34 years of government service.

He enjoyed volunteering for the 2002 Winter Olympics where he drove the Denmark Curling Team to their venues. He also enjoyed photography, gardening, woodworking, beekeeping, and coaching soccer for Greg’s team the Maroon Baboons.

He is survived by his wife Margo, his children Aubrey, Caylee (Michael), and Gregory (Anna), granddaughters Shaney and Amelia, sister Cheryl Gabbott, and brother Steve Gabbott. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother John, and sister Sue.
