Bill Scavezze passed away from a stroke and dementia on Friday, April 26, 2024 with his loving wife Linda by his side. Bill was born November 17, 1941, to Arthur S. and Christine Keller Scavezze in Pittsburg, KS.

Bill attended St. Mary’s High School and was a star football player. He then attended Kansas State at Pittsburgh earning a degree in Psychology/Social Work. He was Sergeant of Arms of his fraternity Pi Kappa Alpha and graduated in 1966.

After college Bill was drafted into the US Army serving as a Field Medic at Ft. Sam Houston and later at Ft Gordon in Augusta GA, where he worked in their Psych Unit assisting with the treatment of returning Vietnam Veterans with PTSD.

Bill married Jayne Burgin and had three children; Greg, Doug, and Melissa. They lived in Prairie Village, KS. They moved to Sandy, UT in 1981 and later divorced.

Bill married Linda Mallory-Latimer on May 23, 1996 and she brought three children into the family; Scott, Mark, and Stacie Latimer. They were married for 28 years until his passing. Bill loved taking his faithful companions Riley and Max on their daily walks around the neighborhood. Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Bill is survived by his wife Linda, his children Greg (Roxanne), Doug (Chrissy), Melissa Scavezze, his stepchildren Scott (Tammy) Latimer, Mark Latimer, and Stacie (Jason) Court. His 14 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and his sister Betty (Mike) Moore. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Arthur and John Scavezze, and his faithful companions Riley and Max.

Bill was a great man whose impact will be felt forever by his family and friends.

The family would like to thank the Intermountain Home Hospice, with thanks to Amber, Gretchen, Sheila, and Victoria who worked with him for 1 ½ years.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 4 at 2:00 pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens (1950 E. 10600 S., Sandy, UT. Casual attire.
