Walter "Walt" Vern Jones

Feb 26, 1934 Sep 2, 2025

St. George, Utah - Walter Vern Jones, a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and a faithful servant of God, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2025, just two days after the love of his life Norene Ranae Jones. Their reunion in heaven is a tender reminder of the deep and abiding love they shared throughout their lives.

Walter had a deep strength of unwavering faith, he was gentle and kind and will leave a lasting impression on all who knew him. He lived his life in service to others- never seeking a lot of recognition but always offering help to those around him. To be in Walt’s presence was to feel valued, respected and truly seen.

He had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel important. Whether through a sincere conversation, thoughtful act of kindness, or simply his calm, reassuring presence, Walter lifted those around him and inspired others to live with great love and purpose.

A lifelong disciple of Christ, Walt served faithfully in many church callings, and was known for his integrity, humility, and great leadership. His life was a testament to the power of faith in all things.

Walt is survived by two children, Peggy Ogzewalla and her husband Roger, and Bruce Jones; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ranae; three brothers; two sons, Donald Jones, and Eugene Jones; and two grandsons: Taylor Jones, and Joseph Levie.

A joint celebration of Ranae and Walt’s lives will be held on Saturday September 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St George Blvd, St George, UT, 84770.

Graveside service will be held at the Annis Little Butte Cemetery at East Menan Lorenzo Hwy, Rigby, ID 83442, on Monday September 8, 2025 at 10:00 a.m.
