Monty loved music growing up and played the trumpet throughout Jr High and High School. In High School he discovered his voice and sang with the Orem High Acapella. He was a proud Eagle Scout and Order of the Arrow with the Boy Scouts of America. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Argentina from 1988 to 1990 and loved the people he met and taught. It had been a dream of his to go visit the country again one day. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a BS in 1994. Monty worked most of his career as a Manager of Operations in different call centers and Computer Technical Support for high end software companies.

After a brief marriage during college that ended in divorce, Monty was single for a long time until he met his soul mate and the one who would become his eternal best friend. Monty married Tamara "Tammi" Christensen in May 2001 in Orem, UT. Once married he became a stepdad and focused daily in raising a good son. Monty and Tammi were later sealed in the Mt. Timpanogas LDS Temple in January 2005. Monty loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, making them laugh and listening to their stories.

Monty had an immense faith in Helaman 12:1 The Monty Rule God and Jesus Christ and knew they always had his back. He never doubted the truth of The Plan of Salvation taught by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He testified often of the peace he knew he would have after death and of eternal family. Monty fought his ailing health valiantly for the past few years. His family are relieved that his mind and body are now at peace and rest.

Monty is survived by his wife, Tammi; his stepson and step daughter-in-law, Brennon and Jayme Schow; his step grandchildren, Bennie, Lia, Wesley, & Peter; his mom and stepdad, Bev and Bruce McMaster; his siblings, Dave (Kanda) Evans, Justin Evans, Andrea (Don) Evans, Liz Evans, Michelle (Matthias) Cicotte, Becky (Brett) Wadsworth, JP (Caroline) Evans, Jackie (Marty) Ginder; his in-laws, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother Jake Evans in 1965 and his father Jack R. Evans in 2008. A viewing will be held Tuesday August 16, 2022, from 9:30am-10:30am with the funeral following at 11:00am. Nelson Mortuary 4780 N University Ave Provo, UT 84604.
