Ty Allen Rasmussen, age 51, moved onto his next journey January 29, 2022. He was born July 23, 1970 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Vernon and Sherry Rasmussen. He met the love of his life Josephine Abe in 2003 and loved her until his last breath. He will be missed so very much by his family. We love you, Ty.

Ty attended Hillcrest High School and graduated in 1989. You can say that was his biggest accomplishment (although most wouldn’t say that). Ty enjoyed many things on this Earth, some including traveling, concerts, being a collector of many items, and being on a trail exploring. Although he wasn’t a fan of the heat, you could always catch Ty in the sun! Ty was a child at heart and was never afraid to show it. He may not have known it but he played a big role in his nieces and nephews lives by him being himself.

Ty Rasmussen shared his love not only to Josephine Abe (whom he shared 20 years of his life with) but to those whom he helped raise, one of the most prominent, Kayla Adakai. Although Ty hadn’t fathered a child, he was still a father figure. He taught important life lessons to those who needed it. He passed down his legacy through that and will forever remain in our hearts and stories.

He opened up opportunities of travel to his nieces and nephews, showing them there was more to life than just the state of Utah. We as a family are so thankful for Ty Allen Rasmussen. Without his wide range of love for sports, music, amusement parks, nature and telling jokes, he would be just a regular guy walking down the street.

Even though Ty was sent onto his next journey, he will live on through all of us, small and big. There won’t be a day where Ty won’t be mentioned or a story won’t be told of him in it, he was greatly loved by his family. Ty loved to be in the driver’s seat and didn’t question being somewhere new. He enjoyed the little things like making it to every movie that came out in a movie theater, the popcorn that came along with it or driving to a gas station for his red bull. Ty was a big sports fan and his range of jerseys would tell you so, football Sunday will feel a little different without him there shouting (even when his cowboys were losing, just kidding!)

Ty Rasmussen will be forever missed by his big family. We hope to show him our love by remembering the memories we shared with him. He was and still will be loved by so many.

Private services will be held for his family.
