Tresalynn Jessop Hancock

Jan 20, 1987 May 16, 2025

TresaLynn Jessop Hancock, lovingly known to her family as "Poor Baby," passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 16, 2025, in her home. She was 38 years old.

TresaLynn was born on January 20, 1987, in Logan, Utah, to Curtis Reed Cooper and De Lynn Chadburn. She spent her earliest years in St. George, Utah, wrapped in the warmth and love of her grandparents, Gene and Nola Chadburn, and her beloved "Auntie" Helene Chadburn. TresaLynn was adored-and thoroughly spoiled-with endless affection and attention.

Her Grandpa Gene gave her the endearing nickname "Poor Baby," a name still lovingly used by family members, always accompanied by a smile and a chuckle. After his passing, TresaLynn became Grandma Nola and Auntie Helene's treasured sidekick, their bond growing even stronger.

During her preschool years, TresaLynn spent countless hours with her Auntie Helene, who volunteered as a preschool teacher. Their connection was unbreakable-from wearing matching dresses to preschool (and even to preschool graduation), to sharing moments full of love, laughter, and deep emotional closeness. Having her Auntie by her side at school made TresaLynn feel safe, cherished, and supported.

As the years passed, TresaLynn returned that love with unwavering devotion-eventually living with and caring for her Auntie with the same warmth, loyalty, and tenderness she had been shown as a child.

At the age of three, TresaLynn met the man who would become her forever daddy - someone who loved her as his own and stood by her side through every chapter of her life. Four years later, in 1994, that bond became official when TresaLynn's mother, De Lynn Chadburn, married Arthur (Rone) Moroni Jessop, sealing their blended family with love, laughter and a whole lot of heart.

At just 17 years old, TresaLynn met the love of her life, JJ Hancock. The two were married on June 3, 2006, beginning a journey marked by instant and unwavering love. From that moment on, they were inseparable-sharing 21 beautiful years side by side.

Their greatest joy came with the arrival of their children. On May 21, 2009, they welcomed their son, Jaykobi Rone, and on December 22, 2017, their daughter, TayLynn Kaelee, completed their family. TresaLynn was an extraordinary wife and a fiercely devoted mother. Her world revolved around her children, and she poured her heart into nurturing their growth, happiness, and well-being.

With TresaLynn's endless love, patience, and wisdom, she shaped Jaykobi and TayLynn into the remarkable individuals they are today. Her legacy lives on through them-in their values, their laughter, and their memories.

TresaLynn's love for her family shone brightest in the little things: the adventures she planned, the memories she created, and the joyful traditions she built. From Thunder Junction's North Pole Express to glow-in-the-dark Easter egg hunts in the backyard, she turned ordinary moments into lifelong memories. Her family will forever hold those experiences in their hearts.

At age 16, TresaLynn was involved in a car accident that left her with minor back injuries and temporarily delayed her path to earning a high school diploma. But true to her resilient spirit, she was determined to finish what she started. In October 2015, she proudly earned her high school diploma through Stevens-Henager College.

TresaLynn didn't stop there-she went on to pursue her passion for graphic design at the same college. During her third year of working toward her bachelor's degree, she became pregnant with her daughter. Even while navigating pregnancy and motherhood, TresaLynn remained steadfast in her education, continuing to persevere with grace and grit.

A dedicated and high-achieving student, TresaLynn graduated with honors in June 2017, earning her bachelor's degree in graphic design. Her commitment and talent were recognized in a special way-she was invited to deliver a speech at her graduation ceremony, a moment that celebrated her determination and unwavering drive.

With TresaLynn's interest in Graphic Design, she had a gift for making beautiful things and her resourceful talent knew no bounds. TresaLynn was creative, crafty, exceptionally brilliant and that passion carried into every part of her life. From baking and cake decorating, sewing tutus and designing bows, making cute bats to designing or decorating for events, she poured her heart into everything she made.

TresaLynn's small business, Little Gidget Bows, was more than just a creative outlet - it was something she built with love and talent. Through it, she connected with her best friend and "twin flame," Taylor. The two quickly became inseparable - their friendship full of laughter, late-night projects, and unwavering support. Together, they were truly a dream team, able to create, fix, or accomplish anything.

TresaLynn had a deep love for all things Tim Burton - especially Beetlejuice and Jack Skellington. Her passion extended to her ever-growing collection of Disney-themed Loungefly bags, each one a reflection of her whimsical style and joyful spirit. When it came to gaming, Borderlands was her all-time favorite - a world she dove into with enthusiasm and excitement. Her favorite pastimes included feeding her beloved hummingbirds, planting flowers, exploring new restaurants, and, of course, shopping for the perfect find.

TresaLynn was expressive, compassionate, and unapologetically herself - never afraid to show her true colors. She leaves behind a legacy that is seared into our hearts - leaving her mark on those who knew her.

Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that our "Poor Baby" is now wrapped in the loving arms of Grandpa Gene and watching over all of us with that beautiful smile we'll never forget.

TresaLynn is survived by her husband. Jerimy Jay Hancock; her children, Jaykobi Rone Hancock and TayLynn Kaelee Hancock; her parents, De Lynn and Arthur (Rone) Moroni Jessop; her siblings, Josh Gibbs of Veyo Utah, Curtis Jessop of Apple Valley, Utah, Heather (John) Gardner of Washington, Utah, and Bethani Jessop of Washington, Utah; and her many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews.
