Herriman, Utah -
Our beloved mother, daughter, sister, friend, aunt, and great-aunt passed away peacefully at the age of 52 on February 12, 2024, after valiantly enduring the effects of Parkinson's Disease.
Toni was born on December 29, 1971, in Cebu City, Philippines, and later adopted (through her biological mother's marriage) by Christian Lauritz Padersen in March 1979, Superior Court of the State of California, Ventura County. Her Birth Name: VeraFe Lalic Balili.
Toni loved learning and discovering new things. She had a curious mind and wouldn't stop until she found the answer or at least drew a conclusion. She was an avid reader and was so enamored of anything to do with murder mystery. Hence, she often expressed her greatest desire to become a Criminal Lawyer. However, as life progressed, her desires were shifted and beautifully interrupted with the birth of her son in July of 1998, which solely changed her focus toward motherhood. Her son became her world as he should be, and vice versa. Being an aunt and great-aunt brought her much contentment, love, and joy. She was adored by many through her wit. Toni was loved dearly amongst her close circle of friends.
She was a strong individual and a fighter to the end. Throughout her life, she met many challenges with trust in our Lord and faith in him; it never wavered.
She is survived by her only son, Christian Milagro Padersen-Wellman; her partner of 25 years, Carmelle A. Coleman; her biological mother, Marcelina Lalic Holst; her stepparent, Larry Holst; her biological sister, Laurie V. Greene and her eleven Balili side siblings: Romeo, Antonina, Rafael, Monalisa, Cristina, Ophelia, Alberto, Jr (Noel), Bernadette, Albert and Gilbert; her nephews: Mason S. Campbell, Jaren N. Teague (Jaye) and Xander T. Butler. She is preceded in death by grandparents, aunts, uncles, and fathers.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at the Crescent 16th Ward at 275 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah. A viewing will be held at 9:00 AM at the same location prior to services. A luncheon will be provided following the services. Per Toni's wishes she will be cremated following her funeral services.
