Our brother Tim passed away suddenly after a brief illness on November 28, 2023, at the age of 63. Tim was born on May 26th,1960 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Gunvor and Grant Anderson
The youngest of three siblings, Tim was an avid skier and tennis player at Skyline High School before serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Tokyo, Japan.
Shorty after his homecoming, Tim returned to Japan where he lived for the majority of his adult
life. It was in Japan where Tim met his beloved partner Kyoko Kamakura who loved and supported him.
Tim returned to Salt Lake in 2019 and spent the final four years of his life caring for our parents who were able to remain in their home together due to his loving care.
While in Utah, Tim built close bonds with his siblings, their children, and grandchildren who he loved, and was loved by dearly.
In addition to English, Tim spoke Swedish and Japanese fluently, and was often mistaken for a native speaker when talking over the phone.
Tim loved Kyoko and their cats Apollo, Jupiter, Gallagher, and Ten and he was anxious to return to Japan to spend the remainder of his life with them. Though Tim has left this world, Kyoko knows he remains with her and their beloved cats.
Tim was preceded in death by our parents. He is survived by his partner Kyoko Kamakura and her family, his brother Gary (Lorna) Anderson, his sister Susan (David) Tollstrup, and their six children, and many grandchildren.
A small gathering with his loved ones will be held in January to honor Tim’s remarkable life.
Tim never said goodbye, but instead offered cheers, so to our brother, we love you, we’ll miss you, Cheers!
