He was born to Ethel P. Goodenough Hartung and Newell Lamar Hall.

He served as a sergeant in the army during the Vietnam war where he was awarded the Bronze Star for Heroism. He was proud of his service in the army as was his family and we thank him for his service and bravery.

He worked a variety of occupations throughout his life but the occupation he loved most was traveling the highway driving a big rig. He was truly happy and, in his element, when behind the wheel of a big rig. He enjoyed making trips back east with his dad Ray to visit family.

He spent his life in the Salt Lake area and the last 35 years with his love Valerie.

Terry loved his family and could always bring a smile to your face and make you laugh. He will be deeply missed by many.

He is survived by his dad Ray Hartung, sisters Julie Peppmuller, Marlene McCoy, and RaeDene Wanner, son Jason Mecham, step daughters Maya Vasquez and Jocelyn Owens, 10 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his mother Ethel P. Goodenough Hartung, wife Valerie Brewer, sister Rita Lish, brother Blaine Hall, and stepdaughter Sarah Stovall.

Guestbook

I've known Terry my whole life, Valerie Brewer was my Grandmother and Terry was always Grandpa to me. I spent a lot of time as a child with them and value those memories greatly and when I was a young man I had the chance to reconnect with Terry and share our military experiences with each other.
