Tami Renae Mellin, age 53, was born September 7th, 1969, in Norfolk, NE, and died April 26th, 2023, in Scottsdale, AZ, her home for the past 30 years, from a rare Metastatic Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the bladder.

Preceding her in death; both sets of grandparents Adolph and Marceline Kruse, and Joe and Evelyn Stella: aunts Cheryl Kruse Schworer and JoEllen ‘Joey’ Kruse; uncles Michael Cooley, Kris and Jim Olesen, and Ron Steenbock.

She is survived by; her mother, Ione Kay Olesen, and father, Steven W. Olesen; siblings, Teri Lynn (Chad) Noble, Jeff Olesen (Connie) and Jay Olesen (Deb); aunts and uncles, Debby (Al) Larson, Judy Cooley (Kyle Tuton), Marlena Welter, Dennis (Diane) Schworer, Steve Asmussen and Nancy Steenbock. Also, cousins; Andy (Lindsey) Larson, Maddy (Justin) Moses, Chad (Cinda) Cooley, Skyler (Ashley) Kruse, Jace Kruse, Ronnie Jean Welter, Matthew (Chip Crosby) Schworer, Niki (Ernie) Shear, and Denise (Bryan) Spilinek.

Tami was married to Kenneth John Mellin from 2006 to 2019.

Tami worked in the healthcare industry while she attended Salt Lake Community and Mesa Community colleges. She was employed at Health Management Associates before advancing to Caremark, Inc., where she was Assistant to the Vice President and Managing Counsel Law Department for over 10 years. Tami studied and received her Loan Origination license which led her to the position and company of which she was most proud, Loan Officer at Homeowners Financial Group for over 15 years.

Her mom, Ione ‘Kay', wishes to share something Tami related to her awhile back: She said, “You know mom, I may never have children of my own BUT, I’ll be the Best Darn Aunt anyone could ever have.” Tami loved her nieces and nephews, Zachary and Tanner Noble, Gabby and Xander Olesen and Evelyn ‘Evie’ Olesen. She was also the “Best Great Aunt” to “the Littles” as she called them, Adelynn and Ryker Noble.

Celebration of Life gathering — 5 to 7 PM, Friday, June 23rd, 2023 Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT 84123.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Mayo Clinic, Sojourner Center or a cancer research organization of your choosing.
