Sylvia Carroll (Crowton), aged 87, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2024, at her home in Salt Lake City, Utah—the same home she cherished and maintained since 1959. Born on December 2, 1936, Sylvia was a pillar of her community and a beacon of love and stability to her family.
Sylvia was renowned for her warmth and welcoming nature, traits that enriched the lives of those around her. After the passing of her beloved husband, Robert Dale Carroll, she devoted herself entirely to nurturing the legacy they began together. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life, and she extended her love and care to her neighbors, witnessing many generations grow and change over 65 years.
She leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor her legacy: her daughter, Susan Slaugh; son-in-law, Kip Slaugh; grandsons, Matt (Julie) and Dallen (Zoe Barlow) Slaugh; great-grandchildren, Carmon and Ruth Slaugh; son, Craig Carroll; daughter-in-law, Michelle Carroll; granddaughters, Brooke (Bret) Juhl and Monica Carroll; great-granddaughter, Kennedy Juhl; son, Robert Carroll; daughter-in-law, Natalie Carroll; and grandsons, Gavin and Jacob Carroll.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Dale Carroll; her parents, Joseph and Bea Crowton; and brothers, Bert (Catherine) and Gene (Paula) Crowton.
Services to honor Sylvia’s life will be held on Monday, September 9th, at Holbrook Mortuary, located 3251 S. 2300 E., Salt Lake City, Utah. A viewing will commence at 10:00 AM, followed by an informal service at 11:00 AM. A graveside service will then take place at Wasatch Lawn Cemetery. All attendees are invited to a luncheon at the home of Rob and Natalie Carroll in the afternoon. Sylvia’s life was a testament to the enduring power of love and community, and she will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
