Stuart Callihan

Jan 18, 1954 Feb 26, 2024

Stuart Callihan passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in his sleep on Feb. 26, 2024; at Sandy Health and Rehab Center where he had resided for the past 2 years. Stuart was born in Biloxi Mississippi on Jan. 18, 1954, to Lucile and Stuart Callihan. In his younger years Stu was a avid outdoorsman who enjoyed horseback riding, gunsmithing, target shooting and fishing. In his older years he took up shooting pool and always loved a friendly game and loved passing time with books, sci fi movies and loved just about anything to do with history. Stu enjoyed several years working as a long-haul truck driver and later worked in the security industry. Our family will miss his big heart and unique personality. He was a very thoughtful person and will be missed by all who knew him.

Stuart is survived by his brother Bill Callihan and his Wife Karen; his sister Phyllis and her husband Bob Cochran, their children Sam and James Cochran as well as James's wife Krystal and their children, Stu’s Grandnieces Emma and Molly Cochran. Stu also had a special relationship with Nina who he always called the love of his life. The family takes comfort in knowing he passed away peacefully and that he was ready to go home. When talking about the afterlife Stuart often referred to it as going home and said he had a nice cabin on a lake and a fishing pole waiting for him when he returned home. Although we will miss him, we know has a line in the water, with a smile on his face, love and laughter in his heart and peace in his soul.

Stuart was proceeded in getting called home by his loving parents Stuart and Lucile Callihan and his sister Linda and her husband Bill Buvinger. As part of Stu’s choices there will not be a funeral service. His name will be placed on the wall at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery. Stuart we’ll miss you, say hi to Mom and Dad for us and enjoy the peace of going home.
