Steven Leon Tibbitts - Brother, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-grandfather returned home to his Heavenly Father on June 11, 2021.

Steven was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Carl and Adair Tibbitts on September 19, 1941. He spent much of his youth with his grandparents. At 17 years old, he enlisted in the Air Force and continued to serve in the armed forces as a United States Army Staff Sergeant for many years. He was employed as a Certified Quality Inspection Specialist at the Tooele Army Depot for over 30 years.

He married his eternal sweetheart, DeEtta Mangum, in the Salt Lake Temple. They recently celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings throughout his life. He served as a stake missionary as a young man while stationed in Mississippi and later enjoyed serving at the Family and Church History Headquarters mission teaching people how to do their own family history research. He also enjoyed serving with his sweet wife, Dee, at the Jordan River temple working at the recommend desk.

He enjoyed singing with the Swannee Singers and the Sacre Dulce choir; Collecting Stamps & Coins (among other things); Bowling; Square Dancing; and Family History. He was often found singing along with his favorite songs from his large record collection. But the thing he loved the most was spending time participating in family activities including: Piano recitals, Choir concerts, Dance recitals, Softball games, Soccer games, Birthdays, Blessings, Baptisms, Graduations...everything to support his family.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, brother(Dan) and sister (Peggy).

He is survived by his loving wife Dee; 4 children - Stacey (Patrick), Kimberlee (Shawn), Jereme (Kamille), Nikkie (Robert); 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; 1 brother (David) and 3 sisters (Brenda, Linda & Carla).

He loved well and will be greatly missed.

In my estimation, he was a great man in both the eyes of God and man.

Steve Rasmussen , Alpine, UT, US Jun 14, 2021

my brother was my playmate, dearest friend & protector for all of his life. I am glad he is done with the pain of this world, but I miss him more than words can express.

the last week of his life we spent about an hour visiting on the phone, sharing memories and singing together. There could not be a better

"big" brother, goodbye for now.
