Steven B. Andersen, the most generous, funny, kind, and brilliant human to ever walk the earth, left us September 30, 2023, after a brief illness with Leukemia. He was surrounded by his family.

He grew up in Ogden, Utah, and attend Ogden High School, the University of Utah, and Brigham Young University Law School. He was passionate about his work, in helping clients with legal problems. He loved to figure out challenging issues.

He loved traveling to Austria, where he served his LDS mission. But his superpower was husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He loved being “Opa” to Theo and Anzach. He took joy in traveling with his family. Those trips were some of our most cherished memories.

He will be laid to rest on Friday, October 6, 2023, in the place he loved most, Southern Utah, among the red rock, where he hiked often and enjoyed the outdoors.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Bethanne, his sons, Tye and Chase, his daughter-in-law, Kaeli, grandsons, Theo and Anzach Andersen, as well as his sisters, Patti Thompson and Susan Yeaton.

Arrangements are made under the direction of Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff Street, St. George, Utah. 435-673-2454.

Friends and family are invited to sign Steven’s online guest book at www.spilsburymortuary.com

I worked with Steve at Holland and Hart in Boise in the late nineties. The most memorable case was the Jack-in-the-Box ecoli litigation. I was so sad to learn Steve got ill and passed. Bethanne, you may not remember me, but you were always so incredibly gracious to me and the other paralegals. You sent me the sweetest note when I resigned. I'm praying for you and your family and hope your memories carry you in the days and months ahead.

I loved seeing the Steve and Bethanne together at church in Parkcenter Ward in Boise. Her beautiful smile and gift for teaching brightened our meetings and lives. I shared little conversations and laughs with Steve and saw his tender affection for Bethanne as he waited for her. I sensed his gratitude for the comfort and peace she brought into his life. Thank God above for the matchless gift of resurrection and reuniting with our dear ones, for whom the waiting seems so long.

We send our love to you, Bethanne! We didn’t know Steve as well as we should have, but we knew he truly was a kind man with such love for you! Thank heavens for Temple Sealings knowing you two will be strolling hand in hand again and then forever!
