Stephen Milo Smith was born on June 1, 1949 in Salt Lake City, Utah to parents Milo Pearce Smith and Mary Janis Van Cott. He is survived by his three sons, Travis (Shannon), Brian (Katie), and Eric. Sister Martha (Gary), and brother Brett (Leslie), and his nine grandchildren: Zander, Gryphon, Hayden, Charlie, Coy, Briar, Grady, Harper, and Thaddeus. His family was his love and a major interest in life. Steve served in the Vietnam War and Desert Storm, and was awarded a Bronze Star and Purple Heart during his service in the Army. He taught Elementary School for his profession. He loved Karate and earned his 1st degree and 2nd degree black belt. Later in life, he grew a passion for Tai Chi. Steve enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his fellow Patriot Guard members, Pastor, and friends, golfing, and life in general and all it had to offer. He was a huge University of Utah and San Francisco 49’ers fan. Steve was an extremely generous man and donated to many organizations he felt strongly about. He truly did have a heart of gold and touch, in one way or another, everyone he met. We love him and he will be missed!
