Stephen "Steve" Richard Atencio

Stephen Richard Atencio passed away on June 24, 2021 in West Valley City at the age of 57. He was born on April 7, 1964 in Durango, Colorado to Fermin and Gertrude Atencio.

Steve was a member of the Catholic Church and attended Our Lady of Lourdes in Magna for most of his life. Steve was a repeat volunteer for the voting polls as well as serving as a volunteer with the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

He is survived by his sister, Lori White (Dave Ervin); brothers, Travis Atencio (Jessica), Joe Atencio (Janet) and Matthew Atencio; seven nieces and nephews; twelve great-nieces and nephews, with one more on the way. Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Fermin Pat and Gertrude Madeline Atencio and his grandparents.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 9, 2021 at 11:00 am at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd (10600 South), Sandy, Utah. Friends and family may call from 9:30-11:00 am, prior to the services on Friday at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary.
