Sivia “Via” Loloaso Skipps Wightman, Age 83, born in Pesega, Upolu, Western Samoa on August 31, 1939 to parents; Willie Loloaso Wightman and MaryAnn Skipps. Formerly from Chicopee, Massachusetts, he passed away peacefully Thursday, November 10, 2022 at his home in Lehi, Utah surrounded by his family. Via married the love of his life, Lynn McClelland, on November 29, 1976. This month would mark 46 wonderous years together.
Via lived to bring joy to everyone in his life. As an incredibly talented musician, his lead vocals and music was shared throughout the world. He was a renowned, Hall of Fame PGA Professional, and a lifetime member of the PGA. His love for the game of golf and his passion for teaching, paved the way for generations of golfers. He was a faithful servant of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved serving in the Provo and Timpanogos Temples. He enjoyed ministering to friends and families, sharing his talents and compassion.
Preceded in death by his parents, Willie Loloaso Wightman and Maryann Skipps, and two brothers; Ruland Skipps and Billie “Suki” Wightman. He is survived by his eternal sweetheart and wife of 46 years, Lynn (McClelland) Wightman; son, Tele and his wife, Erin (Rees); their children, Trey, Emma, Kai, and Rees; daughter, Sara Ofahengaue and husband, Kelepi and their children Kali, Helaman, KJ, Toa, and Jordan; Daughter, Juli Erekson and her husband Zac and their children Ellie, Deuce, and Caz; his sisters Laila, Carol, and Pauline; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family would like to express thanks to the nurses of Intermountain Hospice care and the incredible support of loved ones.
A daytime viewing will be held at 9:00-11:00 AM followed by The Funeral Service at 11:00 AM-12:30 PM Friday, November 18, 2022, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 828 S Center St, Lehi, UT 84043.
Private Interment will be held at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT 84123.

Via was a wonderful man. I absolutely loved him. I remember fondly the years spent as one of his treasured junior golfers at The Holyoke Country Club.

So sorry to hear of Via’s passing. We will forever remember his wonderful smile and the way he had of making everyone feel happy and welcome. Such fond memories of his performances at the HuKeLau! Condolences to y’all.

So sorry to hear of Via's passing. Played golf several times with Via, as partners and competitors. Always a gentleman. Don't think anyone had anything negative to say about Via.
