On Monday, January 23, 2023, Sione Talitekimuli Paki Taufa, loving father and grandfather, passed away at age 64 after being diagnosed with colon cancer. Sione was born on August 24, 1958 in Kolonga, Tonga. He moved to Hawaii in his 20’s to play rugby with the BYU Hawaii Rugby team. He met his wife Meleane during that time and they got married on January 14th, 1981. Together they had 8 kids, 34 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. Sione worked in Landscaping for almost 40 years.

He was known for his amazing food, his funny and charming humor, and how big his heart is. Sione's favorite thing to do was to make people laugh. He spent his last nights laughing with his close friends and family. Sione was known for his many talents which included rugby. Sione was constantly serving his community. He loved to cook for people and serve whoever needed it. He was always taking people into his home or helping one way or the other. Sione spent the remaining years of his life taking care of his family.

A viewing will be held January 28, 2023 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM at 10494 North 4720 West, Highland, UT, 84003 with a funeral service following at 12:00 PM. Burial to follow funeral services at Highland City Cemetery, 6200 West 11000 North, Highland, UT, 84003.
