Shirley was born June 11, 1938 in Pocatello, ID to James Ernest Hughes, and Mildred Henderson Hughes. Shirley was raised in Pocatello, ID & Salt Lake City, UT. She attended Olympus High School, BYU, she also received her beautician license of Hair Design. Shirley was married to Ron Finkelstein on February 6, 1958, they had 3 children, 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. In 1959 They lived on a ranch in Tabiona, Ut for a short time while Lori was a baby. Living the ranch life Shirley learned to shoot guns and was given the nick name "dead eye Shirley". Her and Ron had a special kind of love the kind that lasts an eternity. They had great sense of humors and had so much fun together. She later worked at Singer Sewing, had a home day care, she then started in sales which grew into furniture/ carpet sales. She retired from
RC Willey. Over the years her passion for cooking kept her busy. She enjoyed Although you are no longer here, Mother, your love lives on in every family members hearts and minds
canning, making meals for her family, and her favorite hobbie was making Christmas candy. Shirley took so much pride in and loved sharing her homemade candy during the holidays. Above all else, Shirley was always able to make everyone feel at home, cherished, & loved like family. Our beautiful mother and grandmother, you are forever in our thoughts. We miss and honor you always.
The family would like to thank Hurricane Health and Rehabilitation and Canyons Hospice St George, Utah Nurses, Friends, Family and nameless others for all the love, kindness and devotion shown at such a difficult time.

Your beautiful spirit is missed. You have done so much and given so much out of love and generosity. I’m honored to have met and gotten to know you. Rest In Peace Shirley.

I will always carry the memories from all of the years growing up with her as my Aunt. I do remember the wonderful meals she liked to cook, the candy she would always make on Christmas and other holidays. I loved helping her make popcorn balls and on Christmas we would string together popcorn and other things to decorate the house and tree. She also never seemed to miss the chance to send out a card on a birthday or Christmas. I spent a lot of time with Josh when he lived with her and Ron and I will always cherish those memories. To Lori, Brad and Perry, I am very sorry for your loss. I have you in my thoughts and prayers
Sorry to hear about the passing of your mom and my aunt. Still have fond memories of her and your dad at the reunion at Liberty Park when I brought our mom down for that and for all the years that I knew them and all of you growing up. Unfortunately all we have now are memories of some great people that enriched all of us. Take care, all my best to all of you and stay strong thru this difficult time. Cary
