Shirley Ann Jacobson Mortensen, 77, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away at home in Sandy, UT on July 15, 2022. She was born May 27, 1945 in Murray, Utah to Daniel and Lucile Jacobson. She married Ralph Warren Mortensen on August 15, 1969.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings with her favorite being in the library. She graduated from Jordan High School and was an active participant with the Alumni Association. She loved to do crafts, crochet, genealogy research and traveling. While traveling, she loved to visit relatives and temples along the way.

Shirley is survived by her husband Ralph Mortensen; sister Gladys Anderson (Earl Roy); children Glenn Mortensen, Dawn Parker (Stephen), Geno Mortensen (Rose) and Justin Mortensen (Angie); grandchildren Steven Mortensen (Brittany), Ashley Wilson (Paul), Victoria Parker (Isaiah), Terry Mortensen, Krys Mortensen (Justin), Zachary Parker, Alex Pons (Rylan), Ralph Mortensen II (Felicity), Tammy Mortensen and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; one sister; son Kenneth Mortensen and grandson Brayden Mortensen

A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 21st from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E Dimple Dell Road (10600 S), Sandy, Utah. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 22nd at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1050 E Galena Dr, Sandy, Utah with a viewing prior to the service from 9:30-10:45 am. For those unable to attend, services will be streamed via Zoom at: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82021986870. A free Zoom account is required to view the service.

I am so very sorry to hear of Shirley's passing. I only learned after her service was over this morning. She was a delightful woman, and a great cousin. One of few who could go toe to toe with my dad, her Uncle Gordy. I will miss her
