Sherri Jean Berrett Green passed away on December 29, 2020 after a long and valiant fight with cancer. Sherri was very brave and faced her illness without fear. She never complained and always felt “very well, thank you”.

Sherri was born on July 3, 1964 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in several different positions in Primary, Sunday School and Relief Society. Sherri was always willing to help those in need and do all she could for the good of others. She had a great love for her family and friends, including those with whom she worked. She had many accomplishments.

She married Bryant C. Green September 19, 1987. She was a sweet and loving daughter, a beautiful and supportive wife, and dedicated mother and grandmother.

She finished her cosmetologist studies and obtained her teaching degree. She taught for 16 years then had her own salon for 16 years. Sherri then went to work cutting hair at the Utah State Prison. After this, she worked for The Department of Public Safety, working with Dignity Protection. After the Olympics, she went to the Homeland Security Task Force. She then worked for the Utah State Bureau of Investigations where she retired after 20 years of diligent and faithful service.

Sherri is survived by her loving husband Bryant C. Green and three wonderful children: Jen (Clay) Wiltsie, Kyle Green, Monica (Tyler) Phillips; 9 grandchildren, all of whom she adored and doted on – they were the light of her life; her parents Gene and Carma Berrett and she has one sister, Terri Garcia, who is her best friend. She was a second mother to Terri’s children: AJ, Jason, and Kasey. She is also survived by her father-in-law Marvin Green.

She is preceded in death by her son Ryan Gene Green, granddaughter Adelyn Vickie Phillips, and mother-in-law Joan Green.

Dear Bryant and Family, I'm sorry for your loss, and am glad that she is out of pain. What a wonderful woman who loved and made everyone happy. She has such a fun way of looking at times - smiling with entertaining facial expressions that would lighten up a day. Knowing a bit of her history, she was so blessed to have Bryant come into her life. I've visited with several of your children, and have seen the love Sherri and Bryant have for you, and you have for them. I'm confident we'll see her again. Paul Smith.

Dear Bryant and family: I am so sorry for your loss. I loved Sherri in our neighborhood in the 25th ward. She was always so willing to help anyone and she was fun and bubbly as she did your hair. She always made me feel lighter after a visit. Your whole family was so fun to be around and watch grow up. Sending my love. Julie Pili

I am so sorry for your loss! Sherry was a very special Lady! I still remember her and Bryant helping me out for Christmas in 1998. It was my first Christmas as a single mom and I had no money for my daughter. They stepped in and helped me! I have known the Green Family for many many years and Sherri will be missed! My heart and prayers go out to the family!

I am sorry for your family's loss. Sherri was the keeper of our SBI office when I was assigned to our interdiction and K9 Team. She was the one that kept us organized and taken care of. She was a great woman and we all loved her. She was a fighter and we will all miss her.

I was so sad to hear of Sherri's passing. I have very fond memories of working with her over the years. Whether she was dropping off evidence or helping out at crime scenes she was always friendly and kind. She will be missed. I hope happy memories help your family through the difficult times ahead, and I will be keeping your family in my thoughts.

I’m so sorry for your loss of dear Sherri. She was so supportive of me when my son died. Her heart connected to mine that day she came to my house, offering condolences. I’ll never be able to explain how precious that was to me. She has a genuinely blessed soul. I never saw her again without getting a big heartfelt hug. I know she’ll be missed. What a devastating loss.
