Shelley Lynn Swift/Rule passed away in her home on Saturday January 7th. She was 59 years old. Shelley was an amazing person with a beautiful soul. She was smart, beautiful, kind and caring. She always gave more than she received. She loved everyone more than herself. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, life partner and respected friend and coworker. Shelley was loved by everyone who knew her. She came from humble beginnings and had more than her fair share of challenges, but she worked hard to create a better life for herself and those she loved. She served her employer Mark Miller for 33 years. She was a regular blood donor, who gave multiple times her body’s worth of blood over the years. She gave so much, to so many people, in so many ways, we could not possibly know how many lives she has touched. She loved to travel and experience new things, she loved planting and making her yard beautiful, she loved to drink coffee on the deck and watch the sun rise and the hummingbirds feed, but her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren. Her contribution to this world was immeasurable and it will never be able to fill the void left by her passing. She is survived by her daughter Carly Rule, her life partner Brad Poole, his children Ashley Graham, Katrina Poole, and her grandchildren Colin and Will. She will be laid to rest near family members who preceded her in death; her father Paul Swift, her mother Cheryl Swift, and her brother Paul Swift Jr. A memorial will be held in her honor at the Murray City cemetery.

Always such a welcoming smile, and greeting with hug is what you received every time you saw Shelly. Even though daily conversations diminished over the years, because of different employment, when you went to visit Shelly, she made sure to let you know you were always her friend no matter the length of time between visits. Thank goodness for social media, so we could still stay in touch. I have known Shelly at a young age, when my Dad sold cars for Mark Miller Pontiac. Our friendship grew once Shane was hired as a lot tech Mark Miller. Shane and I are in our late forties, and Shelly has been around for it all. Work, Dating, Parties, Marriage, Baby Showers, you name it. Such a fun friend, that we both will miss terribly. You will be missed deeply Shelly. Thank you for being you.

Shelley was such a good friend and neighbor. I'm really going to miss her. We had so many good talks and even more good laughs. She was kind and thoughtful. Rest in peace my friend. Heaven truly gained a sweet soul.

My heart is broken. I didn't think that this day would be here for many more years. I took for granted the amount of time I had left to fix our issues. As it turns out, I was very wrong. There was a time you were my best friend. You and Dad gave me a beautiful childhood. You raised me better than I've demonstrated. I can't complain about anything in my childhood. Not many people have that. You were my source of comfort and advice, the first place I went to when I wanted someone to be proud, to show my accomplishments to. You were a wonderful Grandma, I'm grateful the boys had time with you, it would never have been enough. You will always be in my heart. I'm going to miss you for the rest of my life. This shouldn't have happened yet. I hope you're at peace and that you found Paul, Grandma and Grandpa. I love you so much, thank you for being my mom and everything you did for me. I don't know what to do without you.

My beautiful sweet cousin, words cannot express the heartbreak that this family is feeling knowing that we will not get to hear your loving laughter and see that gentle smile. You have endured so very much in this short life, but always with love and kindness in your heart . You were one of the very few souls in this life time that I can honestly say, I never heard a bad word from your mouth about anyone. You always tried to look on the bright side and your empathy always shined through. You touched so many lives my dear loved one...I will miss you so very much. I know you were met with open arms and love and that is very comforting.

Until we see each other again...I will keep you in my heart and thoughts with happiness and joy. Love You Always~ Suzanne
