Shauna "Gramz" K. Shafer Holt

Apr 12, 1952 Oct 26, 2019

Shauna K. Shafer Holt, 67, peacefully passed away Saturday, October 26th while surrounded by the love and laughter of her family.

Shauna was born April 12th 1952 in Murray, UT to Raola Gile and Paul E. Chipman. Shauna graduated from Murray High School in 1969. Shauna married and later divorced, Michael J. Shafer. During their marriage they were blessed with 7 children; Heather Horspool, Michael P. (Bobbie) Shafer, Holli (Bruce) Larsen, Heidi Shafer, Matthew (Mandy) Shafer, Hope (Charles) Shafer and Hayley (William) Wolff. She has also been blessed with 28 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Shauna had a passion for helping people in need and was known for unofficially “adopting” family members thus was nicknamed “Mom” or “Gramz” by many.

Shauna and her sister, Sharon Stewart, were very close with their grandparents and spent most of their childhood around them thus Shauna especially loved her role, as “Gramz”. Some of her favorite times were being a foster grandparent at the local elementary school and having sleepovers at Gramz's house - which consisted of as many kids as could fit in her apartment.

Shauna loved the Northern Utah Mountains; going for drives through the canyons in the spring, camping during the summer, watching the colors of the leaves change during fall and finding a hill for the grand-kids to sled down during the winter.

Shauna appreciated her independence, was creative and she regularly came up with some crazy ideas. She also had a wicked sense of humor, as you would often find her scaring or playing jokes on her family, friends and medical staff.

Shauna is survived by 5 siblings, 7 children, 28 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a whole lot of “adopted” family members.

Shauna will remain forever in many hearts.

Per her request, no memorial service will be held but the family welcomes you to join them in a celebration of Shauna’s life at Clearfield City Hall (Multipurpose Room - 2nd Floor) 55 South State Street Clearfield, Utah on Saturday, November 30th from Noon - 2 p.m.
