Sharyn was the first child born to parents Paul Webster Wood and Catherine Badger Wood on June 6th, 1947 in Cedar City, Utah. She attended Cedar High School where she was active with the Girls Organization, the Cedar Pep Club Suah Kahne, United Nations, and the Girls Glee Chorus. She was homecoming queen and graduated in 1965. She went on to study elementary education at Utah State University where she graduated in 1969. Sharyn also married the love of her life, Michael Dale Humphreys in 1969 when they were sealed for time and all eternity in the St. George, Utah Temple. Together they raised four sons: Ryan, Paige, Nicholas, and Garrett.

Sharyn enjoyed spending time with family boating, skiing, golfing, and supporting her four boys in all their school and extracurricular activities.

She was a loving mother who was willing to do anything for her family and friends. She had a fun personality and was always up for an adventure and a good time. She loved her monthly Bonco group and laughing with friends and family. She was very gifted in her talents of sewing, making homemade crafts and decorations. She served diligently in her various callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This included serving in the primary, young women's president, and stake Relief Society presidency. The Lord blessed her with a creative mind which she magnified by going above and beyond each time she taught a lesson or planned an activity in the ward. She also used these talents to bless neighbors and friends and in her own home.

Sharyn is survived by her husband Michael Humphreys, three sons: Paige (Erica), Nicholas, and Garrett (Megan), brother Michael (Paula) Wood, sisters Marilyn (Larry) Milne, Paula (Dave) Trimble, and Joanne (Laine) Sutherland, and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son Ryan, and her parents.

Guestbook

Mike, you and your family were good friends and good neighbors. Sharyn was such a talented Relief Society President that I had multiple people tell me women from all over the valley would come to our ward work nights.

You and your family have our deepest sympathies!!! Larry, Linda, Shawn, Tracie, Jessica and Robert.
