Sharon Lee Jones Meyer passed away on December 25, 2022, in Murray, Utah at the age of 70. She was born on May 23, 1952, in Charlottesville, Virginia to Walter Bughardt Jones and Marcia Jean Dunlevy.
Sharon has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northeastern University. She was a NICU nurse by profession. She loved to swim, read, watch movies and TV shows. She played flute in her High School band. She enjoyed camping in Maine with her two girls. In her youth she enjoyed traveling. In her more recent years, she enjoyed going to concerts and loved ice skating shows. Gardening and going to restaurants were a few of her other hobbies.
She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and participated in Genealogical and temple work. She loved teaching the Gospel to the Primary Children. She also served a full-time mission for The Church in the Boise-Pocatello Idaho Mission.
Just days before she passed, Sharon found out she was going to be a grandma. Mom loved her animals throughout her life, and most recently, her beloved cat, Cooper.
She is survived by her two loving daughters; Becky Lea Meyer and Kara Ann Meyer Hamilton and her husband Adam, stepmother Roberta Jones, sister Dr. Janet B. Jones Oliveira and brother-in-law Dr. Joseph Oliveira, niece Francesca Oliveira and nephew Hans Joseph Oliveira.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Marcia Jean Dunlevy and Father Walter Bughardt Jones.
A graveside service will be held on January 4, 2023, at 2:00 PM with a viewing held one hour prior at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah 84123. Interment will immediately follow.
Sharon will be deeply missed by all those she knew and loved – especially her two girls.
