Shannon Banks Caldwell, Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great-great Grandmother and friend, passed away at her home in Taylorsville Utah, June 6th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Shannon lived life to the fullest, making many lasting relationships over the years. She had such a warm personality and will be missed by so many.
Shannon was born December 14th, 1931, to Randall Moore banks and Julia Amelia Burton in Minersville Utah, the youngest of 7 children. She grew up in Minersville most of her younger years except when she was 8 years old, she lived with her sister Virginia for 2 years after her mother passed away. She graduated from Beaver High School in 1950. She worked in Milford for a couple of years then moved to Salt Lake City where she met and married H Dean Caldwell on July 9th, 1955. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were the parents of 3 boys, Randy, Jeff and Mark Caldwell and daughter Suzette Mendez (Joe). Also, Linda Sorensen, Karen Sorensen and Mike Caldwell. She had many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and 4 and ½ Great-great Grandchildren.
She retired from Varian Medical after 21 years of service. She moved to Apply Valley Utah, where her and Dean's adventures truly began. She loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, riding ATV's and traveling in her RV to all the Mountain Man Rendezvous. She loved baking and cooking, she was famous for her Homemade bread, sour dough pancakes, apple pie and homemade Chicken and noodles. She also won every chili cookoff she entered. Especially the Duck Creek chili cookoff with her amazing Elk Chili.
Shannon cherished the times she spent with family and friends, who will miss her greatly.
A viewing will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Saturday June 14th, 2025, at the La Verkin LDS church, 481 N Main St, La Verkin, Utah. Followed by a graveside service at La Verkin cemetery.
There will be a luncheon afterword at the La Verkin church.
