Shane Richens was born on November 12th, 1959 to Arlo R Richens and Iola Moon Richens in Roosevelt Utah. Shane came from a family of ten children that had two sets of twins, Shane was one of them. With ten children Shane’s childhood was full of adventure and hardships but it made him who he was today. He loved his parents he would spend a lot of his early years helping at the ranch.

In the year 1984, Shane married Sherri Marica Crawford in Elko Nevada. They were later married in South Jordan Temple and sealed for time and all eternity. Shane was a loving and devoted husband; they had a marriage that people only see in fairy tales. The love between Shane and Sherri was one everyone admired, it was full of Joy, Respect, Trust, Understanding, Kindness and Love. Their strong love will carry over with them into eternity their bond will never be broken.

Shane and Sherri went on to have three children, Meghan, Mason, and Morgan Richens. All we are and all we hope to be, we owe to our parents. Shane was dedicated father who brought so much light to his children. Our father Shane Richens embodied humility, honesty, kindness and love and we will miss him dearly. His children hope to be half the person he was, the love they have for him will carry on forever. We love him tremendously and are so proud to call ourselves his children.

To his family he was a best friend, hero, protector and so much more. Shane was his family’s whole world and they were his. He was proud of the family and life he built and loved them all unconditionally. His granddaughter was no exception she was the light of his life. They had a bond and connection that was one for the books which will never be forgotten.

He was the best kind of person and was a light to all those who knew him. He touched the lives of those who were lucky enough to know him. He always made friends wherever he went, and would help anyone out in need. Shane was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served and blessed many in his callings and activities that he did. His life impacted so many people his kind heart has changed so many hearts and he will be greatly miss by those who love him.

He felt a closeness to the outdoors, that is God’s country he enjoyed God’s creations it brought him peace and happiness to go fishing, camping, boating, snowboarding, hunting and more. He loves to be anywhere his family was, he was a big family man and felt most happy around them. If he could get us to go with him on his adventures it was the icing on the cake.
