Shaheen Moaddeli, age 30, passed away December 19, 2022. He was born August 15, 1992 in Salt Lake City to Mehrdad Moaddeli and Tahmineh Breinholt. Shaheen graduated from Alta High School and attended the University of Utah. He was currently working with his dad in IT consulting and previously worked for a nonprofit, helping the elderly and disabled.
He loved reading and writing; hiking and camping and music playing both the guitar and bass. He is loved by his family, friends and co-workers and was the most kind, considerate and generous person.
He is survived by his father Mehrdad Moaddeli; mother Tahmineh Breinholt and Richard Wells; step-mom Maryam Moghaddam; aunt Karen; uncles Behzad, Mehrzad, Pejman; cousin Saular (Shelly) and grandparents Soudabeh and Parvaneh. He was predeceased by his brother Shyon; grandfather Karim; and uncle Payam.
A reception and service will begin on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 South), Sandy. Family requests masks to be worn.

My deepest condolences for your loss.
Shaheen, I understand why and forgive you for the pain it has caused. I pray Tahmineh can carry on. The painting you brought back from China for me hangs on my wall next to my bed. I think of you and Shyon every day. You are two of the most incredible souls I have had the privilege to encounter in this short life of ours. The painting shows the student meeting his teacher (the Master). I originally thought I was the teacher because I taught you martial arts, and that was why you gave it to me. But I have come to realize you were always the Master and I was the student. We will meet again someday!
