Sally Delores Coutta Davis Anderson

Oct 8, 1935 Jan 21, 2023

Sally Delores Coutta Davis Anderson passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on January 21, 2023. Sally was born October 8, 1935, in San Diego, California, to Edward Moon and Elsa Emma Coutta. Although she was born in California, Sally was raised and spent most of her childhood playing on the beaches of Norfolk, Virginia where her father was stationed in the U.S Navy. After high school, Sally moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where she met her first husband, Benny Reese Davis. They were married in 1956 and were blessed with five children, Ronald, Scott, Timothy, Benton, and Charlynn. Sally and Ben were later divorced.

Sally was very strong-willed, compassionate, and always looking to improve herself. After her divorce, she sought to further her education and become more self-sufficient. She enrolled in LDS Business College and Salt Lake Community College where she learned the skills to start her own businesses, including Petite Fleur which she ran with her dear friend Cathy for many years. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and met many wonderful friends in the church over the years.

In 1982, Sally married the true love of her life, Bryce Clarence Anderson. They owned Anderson Landscape, enhancing the grounds of major hotels in the Salt Lake valley. Sally was a master gardener and shared her talent and teachings. After retirement, Sally and Bryce became "snowbirds" sharing time between their homes in Aurora and Hurricane, Utah. As a couple, they led an exemplary life and loved sharing time with friends.

Butterflies hover and feathers appear whenever lost loved ones and Angels are near.

Family was always at the center of Sally's life and spending time together was her priority. Each of us likely remember a picnic, a phone call, or even an afternoon in her beautiful garden with one of her world-famous sandwiches where she gave us words of encouragement or support. Always elegant and poised, we remember Sally as the special "Southern Lady" that brought so much love to our lives, although at times, that love came with a bit of sass.

Sally is survived by her sister-in-law, Linda Coutta; children, Ronald (Deborah) Davis, Scott (Nadene) Davis, Benton (Jennifer) Davis, Timothy Davis, and Charlynn (Brandon) James; stepchildren, Linda (Allan) Lanng, David (Vicky) Anderson, Doug (Carol) Anderson, Debra (David) Maher, and numerous grand-children and great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband Bryce, and beloved brother, Edward"Bill" Coutta.

A celebration of life will be held in the Spring. Details will be announced at a later date. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Intermountain Hospice and Sally's dear friend Wynona, who was her angel during her last months of life.

As a final memory, Sally wants her friends and family to know she will always be with us, fluttering amongst the Butterflies. On warm, sunny days, she hopes you will think of her and smile.
