Rose Ann Langton

Dec 4, 1941 Dec 27, 2020

Rose Ann Langton, our beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandma, great-grandma and great-great-grandma passed away on December 27, 2020 in her home surrounded by her loving family in Salt Lake City, Utah. She fought hard with her battle with cancer.

She was born on December 4, 1941 in McPhee, Colorado to Fredrick M. Martinez and Amelia R. (Gallegos) Martinez.

Rose married David Harry Langton on September 16, 1960. David was the love of her life as she was his! They were married for 59 years.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church. She loved to dance. She sang with a beautiful voice. She always made clothes, costumes at Halloween, and blankets, bibs and diapers for the babies. She always tried to help those in need. She loved going to church, going on cruises, gambling, bingo, poker games and cooking. When you went to her house, you never left with an empty tummy. She loved her entire family full-heartedly. They were always number one to her. She was the glue that kept the family together. She taught us all to be strong like her and to always show love and to always care for others.

She was a strong woman with a sensitive heart. You could always depend on her. She was a firecracker when she needed to be keeping all of us in line.

Rose was the most kind, sweet and loving person to everyone she knew. She loved all her family. Especially her grandchildren. She had an extra sparkle for her first grandchild, David. They had a very special bond that nothing could ever break. As the others followed and came into her life, she loved them all just the same. As the family grew, she would say, “How did our family get so big with just two girls!”

God, please let my mom know that she will be dearly missed.

Mom you were the best, we will miss you.

WE LOVE YOU!

Mom, we know you are in a better place now with Dad, celebrating eternity together in Heaven.

WE LOVE YOU!

She is survived by her daughters, Tonia Langton Ward and Elizabeth Langton; her grandchildren, David Salinas, Christy Lynn Stevens and Tiffany (Trevor) Morrison; brothers and sister, Michael Martinez (Georgia), Anthony Martinez (Debbie – deceased), Daniel Martinez (Arlene) and Theresa Jacobson (Craig); many great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren and nephews and nieces whom she loved with all her heart, as well as many relatives and friends.

Rose is preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick M. Martinez and Amelia R. (Gallegos) Martinez; in-laws, Arthur M. Langton and Eliza M. Langton; sister, Delores Jackson; in-laws, Dean Hamilton and Carol Langton Larson; her son David Lynn Langton, grandsons Ronald David Herd and Joshua Robert Wells. As well as grandparents, uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces

We want to thank Dr. Ray Morris for his personal care as well as the staff at St. Mark’s Hospital. We want to thank Father Iwuoha for all his help in our time of need. We also would like to thank Inspiration Hospice for their love and care. Last, but not least, thank you to every one of you in advance for all your love and support during this difficult time.
