Rosalinda Chavez

Nov 9, 1946 Dec 16, 2021

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Rosalinda Chavez, age 75, passed away on December 16, 2021 in Salt Lake City, Utah. “Rosie” was born on November 9, 1946 in San Antonio, Texas to Juan R. Orosco and Balbina Ortiz Orosco.

Rosie was fun-loving, caring, selfless and hard-working. She had a big heart and would do anything for anyone. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends and was well-known for her delicious tamales. She also enjoyed crocheting and making blankets, especially baby blankets; and she LOVED to dance!

Rosie was the eldest of 11 siblings. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She adored her grandchildren – they were her pride and joy. One of her greatest pleasures was taking her grandchildren to Lagoon. She was fearless and would ride all the rides with them and let them eat junk food to their heart’s content. It brought her so much joy to see her grandchildren happy and having fun.

Rosie was always up for an adventure and made friends wherever she went. Her carefree spirit will be remembered by all, along with her warm and beautiful smile. We will miss you dearly and will never forget your unconditional love for us. We know you are in a better place with Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Psalm 23 – The Lord is my Shepherd

Rosie is survived by her four children, Joseph Sotelo, Stephanie Osborne (Lance), Michelle Imperiale (Joe), Beronica Chavez (Tim); six grandchildren, Courtney Galloway, JD Galloway (Dez Rae), Andrew Imperiale, Amya Wadsworth, Alonzo Wadsworth, Aria Wadsworth, and two great-grandchildren, Thomas Galloway and A-veya Galloway. She is also survived by three sisters and four brothers: Belen Randell, Shauna Montoya, Lisa Duran, Enrique Orosco (Alma), Juan Orosco (Rita), Daniel Orosco and Esteban Orosco.

She is preceded in death by her father and mother; brothers, Rueben Orosco and Steve Dominguez; sister, Mary Espinoza, and sister-in-law, Marisa Orosco.

A celebration of Rosie’s life will be held on January 15, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Alpine Church located at 4433 South 3100 West in West Haven, Utah 84067. The family welcomes donations to the Pregnancy Medical Clinic in lieu of flowers. https://www.pregnancymedicalclinic.org/
