Rosalie “Pinky” Almond passed away peacefully surrounded by her sweetheart and sons on January 18, 2024, in West Valley City, Utah. She was born on January 27, 1945, to Celia Hernandez in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was raised by her grandparents, Jesus and Angelina Arenaz in Glendale, Utah.
She met the love of her life, Russell Almond, at Glendale Junior High and it was love at first sight. They were married on May 3, 1965, and started their lives together in Granger, Utah with their three sons: David, Terry, and Brant.
Rosalie was a wonderful mother and a strong supporter of her boys in their sports and schooling events. She enjoyed being the “Team Mother” to each of her son’s individual teams. Raising her sons was her greatest accomplishment.
Rosalie had many talents, including sewing, painting, cooking, floral design, making porcelain dolls, and was also known for HER own design of Cabbage Patch Kid collection. She enjoyed the finer things in life, spoiling her grandchildren, a hobby for shopping, fashion, and traveling. Rosalie made a friend everywhere she went in the community; she had a presence that emulated friendship and love. She had a charming laugh and a unique sense of humor.
She had many jobs through the years, but her favorite job was taking care of her dear husband, Russell. Rosalie worked for Memorial Mortuaries and Cemeteries where she made many friendships, her most endeared friend she made at Memorial was Valinda. Her compassionate heart allowed her to help families with their burial and pre-planning arrangements. She also spent time with one of her dearest lifelong friends, Ralphine, and together they performed catering services for various professional events.
Rosalie is survived by her beloved husband, Russell Almond, sons: David (Lisa) Almond, Terry (Robin) Almond, and Brant (Aida) Almond, grandchildren: Laura, Kortney, Nikki, Shelby, Whitney, Samantha, Joshua, Patrick, and Macey, and 9 great-grandchildren, brothers: Richard Corral and Daniel (Shauna) Corral, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

You are in our prayers always! God’s speed to you and your family!
You are in our prayers always! God’s speed to you and your family!
Rosalie was my second mom when I grew up in Salt Lake City and good friends with my mom, Royalene. She taught me so many things and was my protector in a sense. She was so safe for me and I can't express how much that meant for a little girl.
Rosalie and Russell spent many summers with us in Lake Powell as well as Ralphine and her family. Rosalie and Ralphine quickly obtained the name "Thrill Seekers" and I can still hear our laughter. Always laughing.
Rosalie was able to get my dad to lighten up even in extreme stress and thinking back I believe she was the only person on the planet who could do that.
Rosalie helped us through the passing of both of my parents and held me together in a sense. She always made hard times not so hard.
She made such an impact on my entire life but certainly in my childhood. I will miss her always but will be forever grateful for her.
To Rosalie's beloved Russell, kids, and grandkids, my condolences to all of you and I wish you so much comfort and love.
May you rest in peace.
