Roma Lee Anderson McBride, age 89, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Roma was born on April 3, 1937, in Fairview, Utah, and was raised in Ferron and Kenilworth, Utah. She moved to Salt Lake City in 1951, where she attended West High School and the University of Utah.
On April 30, 1961, Roma married the love of her life and soulmate, Francis Glenn McBride, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on April 30, 1986. Roma embraced Glenn’s three sons as her own and found great joy in being their mother. Glenn was killed in a workplace accident in 1965. She missed him deeply every day for the rest of her life and looked forward with faith to the joyful reunion they now share.
Roma was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a member of the Poplar Grove Ward for many decades. She treasured her ward family and the lifelong friendships she formed there. She served as Primary teacher, Relief Society visiting teacher, single adult representative, compassionate service coordinator and Scout den mother.
She was also a proud member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers since 1968, where she served several times as captain and also corresponding secretary and registrar.
Roma loved Elvis Presley, old country music, traveling, her faith, and her family. She had a kind heart, a faithful spirit, and a deep love for those around her. We will all miss her contagious smile and laugh!
