Magna, UT Roger Denney McDonald, age 68, passed away at home on December 3, 2020, in Magna, Utah. He was born on November 17, 1952, in Magna, Utah to Audrey Ellen McDonald and Owen James McDonald. He married Bryin Deanne Thomas on March 21, 1979.

Roger loved fishing, the outdoors, and building things. He worked at Kennecott Copper Mine for 30 years (1973-2003), where he made many friends. He was also proud to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and he was sealed to his wife and made an Elder in 2015.

Roger is survived by the love of his life, Bryin Deanne McDonald, two sons, Roger Ryan McDonald and Joseph McDonald, four daughters, Tera (Travis) Fackrell, Julia King, Joanna McDonald, Jenifer McDonald (Jeremy Preston), 10 grandchildren, two sisters, Joyce (Doyle) Carr and Barbara (Bill) Kite, older brother, Daniel McDonald, and sister-in-law, Linda Goudy Kay.

Roger is preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Audrey McDonald, sister, Elaine Louise and Ownetta, and brothers, Joseph, Owen, James, and Samuel.

A viewing will be held on Friday, December 11, 2020, from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM, and again on Saturday, December 12, 2020 from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM, with a funeral service to follow at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah 84123.

Following the State of Utah’s mandate on facial coverings, face masks are required at all public gatherings. Social distancing will be enforced. For those unable to attend the services, Memorial Mortuaries and Cemeteries are offering a livestreaming of the funeral service on Zoom.
