Robert Edwin (Ted) Hill, age 89, beloved husband, father, grandpa, and great grandpa passed away December 15, 2021. Ted was born September 30, 1932 in Salt Lake City to Robert Henry Hill and Evelyn Balser. He was raised in Murray, Utah and graduated from Murray High School in 1950. He joined the Navy and served in the CB’s. Upon being discharged from the Navy, he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Northwestern states. He married Ruth Rawlins on October 9, 1956. He graduated from the University of Utah in 1960 and went to work for Boeing upon graduation. They moved several times over the years but settled back in the Salt Lake area in 1972 and remained there for the rest of his life.

Ted was always adventurous and as a teenager, he hopped on a train and went to California and spent the summer working in a tire recap store. Later as a senior citizen, he went to Mexico for six weeks with a backpack after taking a Spanish class at the University. Later he and Ruth went to live in Guadalajara, Mexico for one year and thoroughly enjoyed their time there.

They lived in the Eagle Gate 18th Ward in Salt Lake City for 20 years before moving to an independent living facility.

Ted is survived by his wife of 65 years, his children Rand (Yolanda), Connie Hutchins (Gavin), Robert (Lori), Scott, and Michael (Monica); 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, also by his two brothers John and Steve; and one sister Patricia. He will be missed until we meet again.
