Robert Clarence Greenland

Robert Clarence Greenland, aged 55, passed away on September 6, 2022 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born on April 3, 1967 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Richard G. and Darleen Greenland. He married Patricia Ruth Evans on October 22, 2002 and were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple.

Robert loved all things Special Olympics. He participated in golf, bowling, track, skiing and skating. The Polar Plunge was one of his favorite outings and he was always trying to recruit others to participate. He was a daredevil and thought bungee jumping was so fun. The Jazz were his team and he could be heard coaching from the stands and his front room.

Robert was one of a kind and will be missed by many. Robert loved his family and would tell stories from his childhood regularly. Special thanks to Mel Siulua, Robert’s FTC staff, Tifani Jefferies and Greg Burr, for their love and support.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ruth Greenland, his siblings; Ruth Aileen Makin (Keith, deceased), Richard G. Greenland (Silvia), Roy Francis Greenland (Lina), Cynthia Rich (Mark), Kenneth Bunker Greenland (Dorothy), Douglas Mack Greenland (Jill) and Tamara Faye Frank, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard G. and Darleen Greenland.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary located at 6500 South Redwood Road in West Jordan, Utah, with the funeral service to begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will immediately follow in the Memorial Redwood Cemetery at the same location.
