Robert Lee Guymon

November 7, 1942 – November 3, 2026

Robert Lee Guymon, lovingly known as Bob, passed away on November 3, 2026, just four days shy of his 84th birthday. He was born on November 7, 1942, to Ed and Geneva Guymon and was raised in the small farming town of La Jara, Colorado. His father was a sheep rancher, and Bob grew up working the land, developing a strong work ethic and a love for the outdoors. When he was 10 years old, his parents gave him his first horse, whom he named Flame. He loved that horse and fondly remembered riding Flame through the mountains while herding sheep.

Bob’s athletic ability and hard work earned him a track and field scholarship to Brigham Young University, where he competed in the discus. After spending a year at BYU–Hawaii, Bob served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Paris, France. He later graduated from BYU with a degree in business management and spent his entire career in the travel and tourism industry.

Travel was one of Bob’s greatest passions. He traveled the world, making lasting friendships and enjoying the opportunity to experience different places and cultures. He had a special talent for organizing tours for large groups, sharing his love of travel with others and helping them discover the beauty and excitement of destinations around the world. Through his work, he brought people together and created countless memorable experiences for those fortunate enough to travel with him.

Bob married Valerie Webster, and together they raised four children: Paxton, Taylor, Parker, and Ashley. Although Bob and Valerie later divorced, they remained an important part of each other’s lives. Bob chose to continue sharing a home with Valerie for the remainder of his life, ensuring she would always have a place to live and the support she needed. His willingness to care for her reflected the kindness and generosity that were such a meaningful part of who he was.

Bob was gay and was a quiet but steady source of support for many in the LGBTQ community. He offered friendship, acceptance, and help to those who needed it. He believed in treating others with kindness and respect, and his love and generosity extended to people from all walks of life.

Above all, Bob’s greatest joy was his family. He loved his children and grandchildren unconditionally, and each of them knew and felt that love deeply. He was happiest when surrounded by those he loved. Bob was also known for his big, strong hugs, which made people feel welcomed, loved, and cared for. He had so much love inside him and gave it freely to everyone around him. His family will forever cherish the love he shared, the memories they made together, and the lasting impact he had on their lives.

Bob is survived by his four children, Paxton (Kelly), Taylor, Parker, and Ashley (Jared); his 10 grandchildren; and Valerie Guymon.
