After a 2 year battle with asbestos related lung disease, Robert suddenly passed away.

Robert was born in Murray, Utah to Gayle & Maxine Alvey. He grew up in Salt Lake City and Sandy, Utah. He married Glenna Casper in 1969. Together they had 4 beautiful daughters. He worked construction in Utah from 1970-1989 at which time the family relocated to Oregon and he remained in construction until he retired 2015.

He is survived by his wife Glenna and daughters Tina, Toni, Kacie & Alicia. His son-in-laws and 10 adored grandchildren completed the family. Each family loved him to no end. Tina & Darwin Loeb with Rachel & Sydney. Toni & Dale Loeb with Tyler, Cody & Carter. Kacie & Tim Hardt with Olivia, Aidan & Evan. Alicia & JJ Renner with Charliann & Jillian.

He is also survived by his sisters Pauline (Robert) Dickinson & Annie (Ted) Searcy. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Douglas & Bruce, sister Marilynne (Card) Alvey. After 54 years as a part of Glenna’s family, he will also be missed by her siblings and their families, given he was a part of their family as well.

His family was his pride and joy that meant everything to him. He showed his love to us by building and painting wood projects for us including a wooden train for the grandkids. He loved cooking for us, especially his Christmas morning breakfast tradition and in general being there for us. He loved his Dodge Challenger and would never hesitate to drop everything if the kids called for a ride from school, showing up with a pocketful of Winco candies and a proud smile on his face. While he was physically able, he never missed his grandkids sporting, music and school events. He was an avid collector of various items and will leave his grandchildren many of his treasures.

Robert was always a role model for so many extended family members as well. He had so many nieces, nephews and friends that looked up to him as a role model and father figure.

Under that long beard and rough exterior, Robert was a loving, dependable & protective father who kept the boys at bay until he found the ones he approved of for his daughters.

Robert was a humble man who had no idea how much his passing has affected his family and friends.

His Celebration of Life will be on November 26, 2023 at The Cedarbrook located at 26450 SE Rugg Rd, Damascus, OR 97089. Open house from 1:00-5:00pm with an opportunity to share stories around 2:30.
