Our beautiful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully with her children at her side on January 27, 2022. Rita was born on April 9, 1937, to Martin and Mariquita Carillo in Cuba, New Mexico. She married DeRay Hall on July 19, 1963, and together they raised three children in West Jordan Utah.

Rita lived for her children and grandchildren. After working for over twenty years, she retired early to help raise her four grandchildren. She was an avid gardener and always kept a beautiful yard wherever she lived. She spent many girls’ nights with her life-long friends playing games into the late hours. Rita enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles and cheering on the Utah Jazz and the Dallas Cowboys. She taught us all to put our family first, be strong for each other, and always remember who we are. Rita set a strong example of hard work, independence, kindness, and strong friendships. We will honor her legacy through living by her example.

She is survived by her two children Valerie, Randall (Kim), four grandchildren Morgun (Spencer), Alexis, Ryker, Chaz (Kylee) and siblings Ernie (Angel), Levi (Pat), Johnny (Ida) as well as many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her son Bryan, her husband DeRay, her parents Martin and Mariquita, her siblings Abel, Ben, Olivama, Willie, Olojia, Selina, Marcy, Sabel.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Carrington Court for their wonderful care of Rita. Private services will be held. In lieu of flowers please send donations to a dementia research charity in her name.
