Richard "Dick" Arlen Morris

Jan 27, 1937 Nov 9, 2021

Dick passed away in his home in West Jordan Utah on Nov. 9th, 2021.

He was born on January 27, 1937 in Hutchinson, Kansas to Pearl Rose (“Mickey”) Hook and Arlie Joe Morris.

He married his childhood sweetheart, Melba Foote, on February 6, 1954. They were married for 65 years!

Dick followed in his mother’s footsteps in his love of bowling… they both played on leagues for many years- he was pretty proud of his 287 high score achievement. He also loved to golf, hunt and ride dirt bikes with his two sons, Rick and Steve. He enjoyed coaching little league sports for his sons and was President of the Taylorsville little league baseball for several years.

He loved music, and though he never took any lessons, had a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing on family trips, at home and on drives with Melba, and at church.

He is survived by 3 children, daughter Toni Morris (Connie), son Rick Morris, and daughter Cheri King (Douglas), sister Karen Walston, 8 grandchildren- Amber Swanigan, Alex Short (Staci), Nick Short (Chelsey), Kelle Herrera (Billy), Stacie Poulsen (Steve), Eric King (Nikki), Kristi Barnes (Steven) and Kyle King (Courtney), 33 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

He is preceded in death by his wife Melba, son Steve, great-granddaughter Taylor King, brother Bob, parents, and numerous brothers and sisters in law.

Friends and family are welcome to attend a viewing on Sunday, November 14th, 2021 from 2-3pm at Memorial Estates at 6500 Redwood Road in Taylorsville Utah.
