Bart was born in Pleasant Grove, UT to his parents George and Orlean Barton. It’s there that he sharpened his skill for whipping green apples through the neighborhood and for babysitting his sisters Bonnie and Judy by trapping them on the roof of the house. But he didn’t act alone, his brother Norm helped spearhead the mischief.

Through the years Bart became an avid bowler and developed a wicked golf game. If you were lucky enough to golf with Bart, he probably talked you into a tournament or two. Aside from his competitive nature, Bart worked to empower young women by serving as a pageant judge on numerous competition panels throughout Utah and Southern Nevada.

Bart always seemed to have a suitcase packed with plans to travel somewhere in the world. He lived in the Middle East for two years and visited 26 countries. If he wasn’t traveling on his own time, he was traveling for his job. Bart worked as a project manager for L3 Communications and retired after 44 years of service to the company.

Bart lived in Taylorsville, UT and is survived by his long-time partner Kelley Green-Rasmussen, sisters Judy Harper and Bonnie Nelson, and sister-in-law LuDene Barton. While there are far too many loved ones to name, it’s fair to say that Bart built a life that was rich with family and friends that he held close to his heart. He is preceded in death by Elaine Barton (wife), George and Orlean Barton (parents), Joyce Walker (sister), and Norman Barton (brother).

Graveside services will be held Monday, June 26, 2023 @ 3pm - Memorial Redwood Cemetery, 6500 S Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT 84123.
