ReNee Virginia Tennant Nielson

On August 19, 2022 ReNee left her earthly existence to join her husband, sons, daughters-in-law, parents and many others. We know their reunion was joyous and wonderful. ReNee was born on February 10, 1935 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Bill and Virginia Tennant. The Family moved to Oakridge Tennessee in 1943 for four years and then moved back to Utah, living on 5th East. ReNee started Granite High School where she met the love of her life, that tall 6 foot 4, All State Basketball Player, Joe. She turned 16 and they were married April 20, 1951. She had her first son at 17 and the fun began.

ReNee’s husband Joe, helped establish Murray Liberty Little League Sports and she was by his side the whole way, working wherever she was needed. As their sons and daughter grew up, she could be found at every sporting event they were involved in, all the way through school. ReNee loved a great party and she was the perfect party hostess, always laughing, always smiling and no one ever went away hungry. ReNee also loved bowling, belonging to many leagues and making lasting friendships with many longtime friends. She loved playing cards and Tuesday was always card day. She loved doing anything with her children and grandkids, but camping was best for her. Spending time in Kamas with everyone during hunting season or just summer campouts was always her favorite. She always had a dog or two, or three. She loved dogs and always found them at the Humane Society. There was nothing better than rescuing a dog she would say. ReNee always donated to the Humane Society and if anyone would like to in her memory, that would be great.

As her illness progressed, she was able to see her children, grandchildren, friends and take phone calls from far away family and friends. She knew her children, daughter-in-law and grandchildren were there taking care of her and that they loved her and they knew she loved them. As she recently said to her sister, “I need to come to grips with this and take care of it and I will, and…she did. We’ll miss seeing you Nee, Mom, Grandma and Aunt, but we will never forget you.

She is survived by Joey Nielson, Flip (Shelley) Nielson, Brandee (Chuck) Jensen, Debbie Nielson Sister Bonnie (Fred) Busch, Nephew Nathan Busch, Nieces Megan Carmody, Tama John and their families. Her prosperity lives on with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, that she loved dearly: Katie, Joe (Becca), Jeff, Jamie (Pat), John (CherRee), Sierra (Chris), Kate, Ryan, Raelyn, Bryson, Dawson, Jeren, Haley, Keagan, Kasi, Arden, Braden, Kayden, KayLa (Quinten), EmiLee, TheYa.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe, her son Lyn and his wife Kim, her son Roy and her daughter in law, Alice.
