RENEE' FRANCINE JOHNSTON, was born on September 18, 1963, in Alachua County, Florida. Her parents were FRANCES VINZANT and ARTHUR EUGENE CULBRETH. Renee’ was raised in Gainesville, Florida and attended Eastside High School and later attended Eckert College in St. Petersburg, Florida. She graduated with a degree in Biology and later attended Kettering College to earn her Physician Assistant Degree in 1991. She practiced at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio and Artium Medical Center in Middletown, Ohio before moving to California where she practiced in the Kaiser Permanente Health System in San Diego County.

Renee' was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009 and then again with metastatic breast cancer in 2019. She fought valiantly but was overcome by the disease on September 4, 2024. She was married to JEFFREY ROGERS JOHNSTON on September 27, 1988, in Haiku Gardens, Oahu, Hawaii.

Her outside interests included: sailing, cycling, camping, skiing, and especially diving in worldwide places, especially at her home in the Fiji Islands.

She is survived by her husband, JEFFREY R. JOHNSTON living in St. George, Utah, her father, ARTHUR EUGENE CUBRETH and wife SIGIE CULBRETH, living in Gainesville, Florida, her sister RHONDA LYNN CULBRETH and her son BRYAN KEITH KITCHENS in Lake Butler, Florida, and her niece, ELIZABETH ANN STIDHAM and husband, MILES STIDHAM, living in Alachua, Florida. She is preceded in death by her mother, FRANCES CULBRETH and sister, ROBIN CULBRETH.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 South Bluff Street, St. George, Utah. Phone: 435-673-2454. Attire will be business casual.

The family would like to express our utmost gratitude to the wonderful Oncology Team at St. George Regional Medical — Cancer Center for their tremendous care, support and professionalism. Additionally, we'd like to thank the Gilmore Family, especially MaShalle for her special touch and care in Renee's final days.
