Renee married the love of her life Dee Andersen on June 11, 1947, in the Manti Temple where they were sealed for time and all eternity. They met at the Monroe Hot Springs at the young age of 14 where he tried to kiss her and she slapped him in response. They had an eternal relationship, and could not go to sleep each night without holding hands. They had three wonderful children, Sam Andersen, Carol (Jim) Lewis , and Joe (Hazel) Andersen, with eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

She had the ability to light up a room and make everybody feel special and loved. She was a truly talented woman and excelled in everything she did. She was great at crafts, painting, sewing, canning, quilting, chopping wood, cheerleading, fishing, hunting and moving furniture at 94 years of age. Her favorite thing to do in life was to spend time with family and friends and spend days fishing with her father.

Renee grew up in a large family with 3 brothers and 6 sisters. The brothers and sisters were very close and spent many years together celebrating birthdays and holidays. Renee had fond memories of playing in her father’s coal yard and getting dirty. Renee loved spending time with Dee’s brothers and their families. They all spent many years together in St. George where they each purchased a park model home to spend each winter down in the warmer climate. They spent the winters hiking, quilting, sewing, and having fun together.

Her love and spirit will live on in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a great example to all who met her, but especially to her family.

Preceded in death by: her sweetheart Dee, parents, Mae Hanchett and Jack Robinson; and siblings: Joye O’Berry , Art Robinson, BH Robinson, Pauline Fox, Peggy Ann Robinson, Joseph Dan Robinson, Gertrude Robinson, and Rea Barlow. She is survived by her sister Anna Mae Barnes.

We will remember and honor Renee at her memorial service on Monday, January 30, 2023 at 10:00 am at the LDS meetinghouse (1155 North 1200 West North Chapel. Salt Lake City - Rose Park). A viewing will be held prior to the service at 8:30 to 9:45 am on Monday. There will also be a viewing Sunday, January 29th, in the evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the same church location. She will be laid to rest in the city she loved Elsinore, Utah at the Elsinore City Cemetery on Monday at approximately 2:30 to 3:00 pm.

Dee and Renee lived across the street from my parents for 50 years. She was always so sweet and helpful and had a smile on her face. They were great neighbors. I was sad to see of her passing.

My sincerest condolences to Renee and Dee's family. I remember Dee when we were growing up together in Monroe. The Andersen cousins got together often down there and celebrated special occasions. In later years, I got to know Dee and Renee a little better and always appreciated their kindness to me. The love they had for each other and for their family was always evident. And I loved the beautiful example they set in their faith and testimony of the gospel and their willingness to serve others with the abundant talents they had. I pray for the Lord's blessings to comfort you. I know you will miss both of them, but have comfort in knowing that they are together again and rejoicing. Much love, Cousin Elsie Andersen Smith.
