Peni Samoa Benjamin

Peni Samoa Benjamin, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, peacefully returned home to our Heavenly Father on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at his residence in West Valley City, Utah.

He is survived by his 9 children Leah (Tafo'i), Rachel (Howard),3 Zilpah (Boyd), Ailigi (Kalo), Michelle (Va'a), Manoa (Renata), Irene (Joshua), Maverick (Seuiga), and Daisy (Edward); his 16 grandchildren Myles, Jeremiah, Colby, Daisy, Iversyn, Brooklyn, Bronsyn, Karlin, Jerzy, Mata’ali’i, Angelys, Kalini, Madisyn, Franklyn, Ainsley, and Stella; his 5 siblings Samoa, Toma, Tailo, Tiresa, Iosua, and Ala; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Peni was born in Matafelefou, Western Samoa, on June 15, 1949. His parents were Samoa Benjamin Manoa and Taisia Tuiatua, who he lost at a young age, but was blessed to be raised by his loving bonus mother Taulago Toma. He was a very hard working and independent man who always strived for the best. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and son. He held many church callings and served diligently. He was very faithful and made so many sacrifices to help others.

He is preceded in death by his parents Samoa Benjamin Manoa, Taisia Tuiatua, and Taulago Toma; his wife Fetuanai Va’aulu, and many brothers and sisters.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Intermountain Hospice team for the love and care of our father.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 14th, 2021 at 12:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3450 West 3175 South, West Valley City, Utah, 84120, with a viewing starting at 8:00 AM and the family service starting at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at the Memorial Redwood Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah, 84123. Facial coverings are recommended at social gatherings.
