Paul Richard Wells

Paul Richard Wells, our father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many, passed away peacefully at the age of 75 on July 2nd, 2022, surrounded by his loving family in the comfort of his home.

Paul was born February 13th, 1947 in Los Angeles, California to his mother Beatrice and father Lonas. He was the youngest of 4 children.

Paul met the love of his life, Connie, at the Catholic school they both attended in Los Angeles in 1966. After graduation, Paul joined the United States Air Force, and Paul and Connie were married shortly after on July 8th, 1967.

Paul and Connie started their life and family together while stationed throughout the country and world. Their oldest daughter Diana, was born in Los Angeles, CA in 1968. Their second daughter Linda was born during their time stationed in Riverside, CA in 1971. Their first son Robert was born at Ramstein AFB, Germany in 1974. Their second son Brian was born at their final assignment in Randolph AFB in San Antonio, TX in 1977.

Paul proudly served in the United States Air Force as a computer programmer for nearly 23 years, from 1966 until retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant in 1989.

Paul loved traveling the world. He ultimately visited 34 different countries: about half were for work, while the other half were simply for fun. Paul also enjoyed taking road trips across the US, among many other hobbies he took part in. However, what he enjoyed and loved most of all was his family. After raising his 4 children, Paul went on to help raise 2 of his grandchildren, Travis and Cheyanne. He loved being surrounded by his family and it was apparent to everyone he met how much joy and pride he took in watching those he loved become successful in their own lives.

Paul and Connie were married for 40 years before Connie passed away in 2007 from heart failure in San Antonio, Texas. In 2012, Paul followed his dream of living near the mountains of Utah. Shortly after moving to Cedar City, he rekindled his connection with God and became an active member of the LDS Church.

Paul is survived by his siblings Betty, Marie, and Paula, children Diana, Linda, and Brian, grandchildren Christopher, Travis, Joshua, Cheyanne, Rowan, and Jocelynn, and great-grandchildren Demi and Maisey.

Paul was preceded in death and is now reunited with his parents Beatrice and Lonas, wife Connie, and son Robert.
