Omeli Vaovasa was born in Nofoali’i, Western Samoa, to Samoa & Seuiga Vaovasa. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on October 9, 2020. He was married to the love of his life, Elsa, on April 23, 1982. Together they had six children and four grandchildren.
In his youth, Omeli served in the Army National Guard but his time was cut short due to the passing of his mother. He was honorably discharged a year into his service. Omeli loved fishing, riding his bike, and watching old western movies. He loved hanging out with his family and his grandchildren.
Omeli is survived by his loving wife Elsa Vaovasa & children Leticia (Sione), Sergio, Seuiga (Maverick), Brittney, Andrew (Kesaia). His Grandchildren Noah Tapa’atoutai, Mani, Elijah & Aalayah Vaovasa. His sisters Vaiaumoe Erwin, Siava Bell & brother Liuafi Vaovasa. Along with his many nephews & nieces.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Seuiga Trinidad Vaovasa, parents Samoa & Seuiga Vaovasa, and sisters Elaine Toefo’i Arroyo & Fenumia’i Vaovasa.
Funeral services for Omeil will be held Oct 24, 2020 at the Granger 11th North Samoan LDS chapel located at 3175 S. 3450 W. West Valley City, Utah 84119. A viewing/service will be held from 10 AM to 1 PM. The burial will follow at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery at 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT 84123. Our family would like to express our gratitude to all those who have offered their condolences and love during this difficult time, love you all. We love you dad!
