Matveyenko Olga Ivanovna (Paliey), our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend passed away battling colon cancer on July 7, 2023. She was 77 years old.

Olga was born on April 27, 1946, in Arkhangelsk, Russia. She was married to Leonid Alekseyevich Matveyenko and had two children with him, Yelena Matveyenko and Natalia Lapin.

She Is survived by her daughter and spouse: Yelena Leonidovna Matveyenko and Alexander Vasilyevich Barsukov

She has 2 grandchildren and their spouses/partners: Alena Alexandrovna Thornburgh (Thomas Allen Thornburgh), Anna Alexandrovna Barsukov (Constantine Nikos Linardakis)

Her great-grandchildren are Quinn Alexandra Thornburgh and baby sister on the way.

Olga was the most kind-hearted, charming, and beautiful soul who loved her family and friends dearly. She loved so hard and always showed appreciation and care with anyone that crossed paths with her. She has two medical diplomas and worked in an Oncology clinic laboratory for over 20 years in Gomel, Belarus. She had a successful career as a clinical laboratory manager. She moved to Salt Lake City, Utah with her family in 1997. Olga had a great passion for knitting, gardening with her grandchildren, eating good food, and being around great company. She was always a good friend, listener, and best advice giver to anyone in need of it. She was very independent and strong, even during the most challenging moments in her life. She will forever be in our hearts and we will continue to cherish those moments we had with her.

A public viewing will be held Friday, July 14, 2023 at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary at 11:00 AM, followed by a graveside service at 12:30 PM at Memorial Mountain View Cemetery, 3115 Bengal Boulevard, Cottonwood Heights, Utah 84121.
